Camden Market

Sunday Leidy and I woke up VERY early. First went for breakfast at the the mac then we took the bus to Camden town. We heard that there is a nice and also kinky market so we were curious about it. There was also delicious food everywhere. We stayed there at the market a couple of hours. We walked eat and shopped a bit. Before going to the hotel we dropped by Starbucks to get a frapuccino. At night we decided to go to the MC again because we were hungry, so this weekend was all JUNK..huh Leidy??

Leidy in town!

Hi Everyone. This weekend my cousin Leidy is visting me in London. Yesterday after work we walked around the city. Oxford street, regent street, Picadilly circus, China Town. We had dinner at Chinatown and then went to the Hotel. Today we did some sight seeing.

It was not that cold as last weekend when Liz was here. Anyway Leidy and I did a lot of walking today. We also did our river thames cruise. When we arrived at the Tower of London we had lunch there. It was delicious.

We were so hungry. After that we hopped on the bus again and hopped off at Harrods. What can I say...a lot of nice stuff and also VERY expensive. You will find all designer clothes, shoes, bags in there. Now we are here at the hotel thinking what we want to do tonight, since we are kind of lazy :-$

Sight seeing, bar hopping etc...

Today we had a lot of fun. We started the day with some shopping in "Oasis". Since it was not in the planning and we didn't want to lose any shopping bags...ahum, we decided to go to the hotel to put the bags in the room. After that we took our Sign seeing touring bus to "Trafalgar Square". We just walked around there and took some pics. Then we headed to Picadilly Circus to get some information about where London Chinatown was. At Picadilly Circus and Chinatown we did some walking and then we had delicious Dim Sum. Since we didn't know what to do next, we took the Touring Bus to "Harrods". No no, not to do some shopping, but just window sopping ;-). When we got off the bus there were so much shops in the neighbourhood that we start entering them en when we finally arrived at Harrods it was closed. I'm not sure if I need to say "unfortunately", because since I know myself and If I would see nice shoes or bags in there and it's VERY expensive I would probably think about it...ahum or just buy it, so now we were forced to just do window shopping :-).
So our next stop was the ICE BAR LONDON. We read somwehere about this bar fully made of ICE, so we were curious about it. When we arrived there they asked us if we did have a reservation. Since this was not case we needed to wait like 1 and a half hour to enter the ICE Bar. Lucky us we met some guys in the "waiting bar" that did have a reservation for 8 people. Since 2 of them were not coming we could enter the bar with them. What can I say, it was extremely COLD in there, but a crazy experience. It was minus 5 in there. At the entrance they gave us some capes to keep our body warm. We stayed there like 45 minutes and then we went to a warmer place..the restaurant downstairs. We hanged a few hours with those guys we met and they asked us to join them at the "Cheers" bar to eat something. Like 10.30 pm Liz and I decided to leave, because we were really tired and as you guys know I need to work tomorrow. Anyway enjoy the pics and I think I will be updating my blog again next weekend when Leidy is here.

Finally.......some sight seeing!!

Today Liz and I did some HOP off HOP on. :-) We bought a sight seeing tour ticket and with this ticket we can get off the bus and get the next one all day long. This was an advise of my sister Amaryllis and actually we enjoyed it a lot, except that it was VERY VERY cold today.
Anyway what did we see today? Picadilly Circus, Trafalgar Square, Big Ben and the houses of Parlaments, Tower Bridge, Tower of London(picture next), St Paul's Cathedral ad so on. We didn't stop at all of them (tomorrow is another day). We just passed by since we decided to take the boat at the Tower of London first.
At the Tower of London we had lunch just before taking the boat (River Thames). We both had Jacket Potatoe with chicken and mushroom. What can I say...it looks better then it tasted.

The boat trip over River Thames was really nice and COLD. It started raining and there was a lot of wind. But that didn't stop us from taking pictures ;-) The guide was telling us the history of every bridge, which year they were build etc, but to be honest don't remember neither the names, neither the build year. Maybe when my cousin Leidy comes next week I will pay better attention.

After the boat trip we hopped on the bus again to Maddam Tussaud.
We had a lot of fun there. First of all I was really happy to see George Cloonet there. As most of you know is my favorite actor. We also took a pic with David especially for our friend Gi who must be jealous now.. ;-)
Anyway there was also this scary attraction in there with real actors ("serial killers)" and it was really terrifying. Liz that usually is not afraid of anything was screaming like crazy..hahah.

This is something I will never forgot and I'm sure Liz won't forget it either. Anyway after Maddam Tussaud we went to the hotel to change shoes and we did some small shopping and had dinner at a restaurant called Garfunkel's. DELICIOUS, much better then our lunch.

Waiting for the boat and in the boat.

Meet & Greet with the celebrities

Sight seeing...Big Ben, houses of parlaments, Trafalgar Squar and more

So as promised her some pics for my colleagues in Curacao of the London Office. Our colleagues here just moved a while ago to the 9th floor, so as you notice here and there some boxes. It's really a nice view from up here. But anyway Gi!! sorry for the shop pics. Not good enough, but people were looking at me like I'm crazy taking pics of shops instead of nice buildings, churches etc..lol. As you can see a lot of BLACK. Tonight I had dinner with Emilie, was really good. Pasta..hmmm and then she walk with me to my hotel.
